How to read the report

AI insights

The AI insights section appears at the top of the report. It highlights three key findings from your data, focusing on products with unusual sales-to-quantity ratios, items showing zero revenue despite high quantity, and menu items fragmented across multiple SKUs. See Using reports - AI insights for how to interpret AI recommendations.

Item quantity vs sales chart

This scatter plot shows the relationship between how much you sell (quantity) and how much revenue each item generates (sales). How to read the chart:
  • X-axis: % of total quantity sold
  • Y-axis: % of total item sales (revenue)
  • Each dot: One product in your menu
  • Dot color: Product category (food, drinks, can drinks, no category)
What to look for:
  • Top right: High-value, high-volume winners (feature these items)
  • Top left: Premium items (high revenue per unit, lower quantity)
  • Bottom right: Volume items (lots sold, but lower individual price)
  • Bottom left: Low performers (may need repricing or removal)

Interacting with the chart: Tap any dot on the chart to:
  • Drill into Quantity: See all individual orders for that product
  • Drill into Item sales: See transaction-level sales data
  • Single product view: Open a detailed dashboard for that product

Product mix table

The table below the chart breaks down your products by category. It shows quantity sold, sales, and average price. Table columns:
  • Reporting category: Product category (set on the Products page)
  • Item name: Product name as it appears in your menu
  • Quantity: Total units sold
  • % of total (quantity): What percentage this item represents of all items sold
  • % of category (quantity): What percentage this item represents within its category
  • Gross sales: Total revenue before discounts or tax adjustments
  • % of total (sales): What percentage this item contributes to total revenue
  • % of category (sales): What percentage this item contributes to its category’s revenue
  • Avg price: Gross sales divided by quantity
Expanding categories: Tap the arrow (▶) next to a category name to see individual products. The arrow changes to (▼) when expanded.

Interacting with the table: Right-click on any item name to:
  • Single product view: Open a detailed dashboard
  • Copy value: Copy the item name to clipboard
  • Expand: Show child items or modifiers (if applicable)

Filters

The report starts with three visible filters:
  • Serving date: When orders were fulfilled (defaults to past 30 days)
  • Outlet: Filter by location (if you have multiple outlets)
  • Item name: Search for specific products
Tap +7 to access seven additional filters including Item SKU, Reporting Category, Source, Fulfillment Type, Hour of Day, Day of Week, and Table. See Using reports - Filters for detailed instructions on how to apply filters and use date operators.

Single product view

The single product view shows detailed metrics and trends for one product. How to access it:
  • Tap a product dot on the scatter chart, then select Single product view
  • Right-click a product name in the table, then select Single product view

Metrics shown

  • Quantity: Total units sold in the selected date range
  • Item Sales: Revenue generated by this product (excluding modifiers)
  • Gross Sales: Total revenue including modifiers and extras
  • Avg Price: Item sales divided by quantity
Each metric includes a sparkline chart showing the trend over your selected date range.

Modifier group breakdown

Two charts show how the product is used:
  • Quantity by modifier group: Which modifier groups include this product
  • Item sales by modifier group: Which modifier groups generate the most revenue
Most standalone items show “Top-level Item” as the only modifier group.

Drilldowns

Tap any product dot on the scatter chart to drill into individual transactions. You can drill into Quantity (all orders containing this product), Item sales (orders that generated revenue), or open a Single product view (detailed dashboard). Why are there fewer sales rows than quantity rows? Some quantity transactions don’t generate sales (complimentary items, test orders, voided items, or pricing errors). Check your menu setup if you see many zero-sales transactions. See Using reports - Drilldowns for detailed instructions on drilling and exporting transaction data.

What should happen

After selecting filters and tapping Update:
  • The scatter chart updates within 2-3 seconds
  • The product mix table refreshes with new data
  • AI insights regenerate based on the filtered data
  • The “Last updated” timestamp shows the current time
After tapping a product to drill down:
  • A menu appears with three options (Drill into Quantity, Drill into Item sales, Single product view)
  • Tapping an option opens the corresponding view
  • All filters remain applied to the drill-down data

If it doesn’t work

  • Check that your date filter includes days when you had sales
  • Tap Run without cache to force a data refresh
  • Verify that products have a serving date (not just an order creation date)
  • Contact support if you had sales but the report is empty
  • Go to the Products page and check item prices
  • Look for products with $0.00 set as the price
  • Verify that modifiers have prices if they should be charged separately
  • Update prices and wait 1 hour for the report to refresh
  • Go to the Products page
  • Edit each product and set its Reporting category field
  • Save changes
  • Wait 1 hour for the report to refresh with updated categories
This is expected for standalone products. “Top-level Item” means the product is sold by itself, not as part of a modifier group or bundle. If you expect to see modifier groups but don’t:
  • Check that modifiers are properly configured in your menu
  • Verify that the product is actually used in bundles or as a modifier
  • Check that all filters are applied correctly (expand the Filters section to verify)
  • Tap Run without cache to refresh the data
  • Verify that the “Last updated” timestamp is recent
  • Contact support if the discrepancy persists after refreshing
If the issue persists after trying these steps, contact support at [email protected] with:
  • A screenshot of the report
  • The filters you applied
  • What you expected to see vs. what you’re seeing
