How to create new menus

Atlas menu builder is the easiest way to create new menus and update your ongoing regulars. Use Atlas Aggregator too to handle menus for all your platforms from Atlas Merchant Portal and push changes with 1 click.

Creating new menus

1/ Go to Atlas Merchant Portal (portal.atlas.kitchen)

2/ Click on the hamburger icon to open the left sidebar menu.

3/ Click on Menu Builder (you must have the right permissions to see this) > Click on Menus.

4/ Click on Add menu > Add the details for your new menu > Save to Draft.

☝️With the first draft saved, you can start adding your new sections, products and modifier groups:

5/ Click on Add a section on the left side of your screen to add new or existing sections β€” these will house your products (Best practice: keep it short to ~6 sections).

6/ In a section β†’ Click on Add a product to add new or existing products β€” these will be the items you will sell. Fields you need to fill up:

  • Name
  • Currency & Price
  • *Description β€” this accepts HTML tags to format the text.
  • *Tags β€” these will be used in your printing and KDS configurations to target specific products.
  • *Brand
  • *Image (PNG; JPG up to 10MB) (Best practice: use a 1:1 ratio with enough blank space in the corners)

7/ In a product β†’ Go to Configuration, then click Select modifier groups to add new or existing modifier groups β€” these will be the groups that house choices that diners can make inside each product (e.g. Choice of doneness). Fields you need to fill up:

  • Name
  • Minimum selection (e.g. set to 0 to make this modifier group optional)
  • Maximum selection (e.g. set to 1 if only 1 choice is allowed)
  • *Maximum selection per modifier (e.g. leave blank if there is no for each modifiers)

8/ In a modifier group β†’ Click on Select modifiers to add new or existing modifiers (e.g. products or components) β€” these will be the individual choices inside each group (e.g. Hot or Cold). Fields you need to fill up, after selecting the modifier group:

  • *Price override β€” overrides the original item price only within the modifier group.
  • *Default quantity β€” assigns a default quantity pre-selected for this modifier group, often used for bundles.
