# Manage customer tags

> Tag and segment customers using Ask Atlas, Claude, or ChatGPT.

## What this does

Use Ask Atlas, Claude, or ChatGPT to group customers by spend, visit frequency, or custom criteria, then apply tags to their profiles.

## When to use this

* You want to build a VIP list
* You want to target lapsed customers
* You are creating loyalty tiers
* You want to tag customers by dietary preferences

## Steps

**Ask Atlas**

**1. Open Ask Atlas**

Open the Ask Atlas chat in the Atlas Merchant Portal and start a new conversation.

**2. Send the request**

```text Prompt theme={null}
Suggest customer segments or tags I can create for targeted marketing.
```

**Claude**

**1. Open Claude**

Start a new Claude chat and make sure the Atlas connector is turned on.

**2. Paste the prompt**

```text Prompt theme={null}
Suggest customer segments or tags I can create for targeted marketing.
```

**ChatGPT**

**1. Open ChatGPT**

Start a new ChatGPT chat and make sure the Atlas connector is connected.

**2. Paste the prompt**

```text Prompt theme={null}
Suggest customer segments or tags I can create for targeted marketing.
